Roman is such an awesome name. My best friend and I had lunch today and she was born with Cleft Palat and Cleft lip and she was saying how upset she was that her parents never too pictures of her as a baby until she had all her surgeries. She said that she really wanted to see pictures of how she looked.
then I saw this post and it made me happy. you're a good mama. Your son will appreciate seeing what he looked like through all the diffent stages.

During struggles with my daughter's health, I think about my mom telling me that she believes that God chooses special parents for extra special babies. I have often reminded myself that "I Can Do All Things in Him That Strengthens Me" (Philippians 4:13) and "Every good and perfect gift is from above" (James 1:17). what a precious little man. a sweet birth date. and a good strong name. but i am biased, my muller grey was born on nov30th. muller was my tiny german grandmother's maiden name and grey (with an E!) is just one of my favorite words.
my wish for roman is a easy-going, joyful disposition and an as-easy-as-possible first year.

Congratulations on your beautiful boy. I was also born with a cleft lip. I had about 7 surgeries throughout my life. The technology and capabilities they have now would mean less surgeries for my reconstruction. I wish you all the best through the joy and challenges that lie ahead. Oh and I agree with a previous commenter. My family didn't take very many photos of me before my first surgery. I only have my hospital photo and an cracked polaroid to see what I looked like before.
Hi, I know you don't know me...I'm Erika. There, is that better? :) I usually don't comment on blogs of strangers. My first was born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate. He's now 4 years old and has had 2 surgeries so far.
Of course it is very difficult at times, especially handing my baby over for surgery, but I also have grown so much because of it. And you know I now have so many close friends from a cleft support group. I never would have even met them had it not been for my sweet boy's cleft.
