We threw together a little party last minute for my birthday yesterday. It came together really easy with all the help from my friends. Liz made a big pot of Ina's Chicken Tortilla Soup and my friend Michelle made me a beautiful cake and some cookies. (Thanks Liz and Michelle!) Then all I had to do was make sure the house was clean and get drinks.
I made a tablecloth from this Ikea fabric last week. I just got two yards and then hemmed the edge. The total cost ended up being $16. I also picked up some new serving dishes while I was in CB2. The plato platter was $10 and these modern serving bowls were $6/each. They looked modern and pretty.
Happy Birthday! You know they say you start living in your 30's. And then it's 31 which to me is thirty-fun! Love your decorations too! Hope all your wishes come true:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Your party appears to have been lovely and adorable - just like you!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteQuestions: what brand is the root beer/vanilla cream soda?
And also - it may not be yours, but who made the cake plate?

ReplyDeleteIkea fabric is turning out to be a great find in my book. I went last week and they actually had red and blue ticking and gingham for 8.99 a yard (59 inch width). Not bad, eh?
So glad you had a party! Every year is worth celebrating :) You earned it!

ReplyDeleteIf anyone's reading, I'm soliciting advice. I loved this tablecloth as well, and for my SIL's bridal shower thought I'd copy it. Only it will be on 2 huge tables in the room. To avoid an overload of stripes I was thinking of doing 2 runners instead. Only, now that I just came home from Ikea with the fabric, I'm wondering if the stripes are too wide for a 13-14" runner. Any opinions?
