I love industrial furniture. I think what I love most about it is how you can add a piece to almost any room and it makes it feel a little unfinished and not too precious. And while I would prefer an authentic piece found in my grandpa's work shed those aren't always easy to come by. I am happy that there are so many affordable options these days for industrial furniture. I've done a little round up of my favorites and even came across a ton of more options I wasn't aware of while I was hunting.

ReplyDeleteI love your finds! Haven't been into world market in a while. Maybe I need too. I have a love hate relationship with ikea. But I love the ekby bjarnum shelving system. It's sturdy and gives our decidedly 50s kitchen a little edge.

ReplyDeleteWe previously had a glass table, but then along came our little one who enjoyed wacking it with weeble wobbles.
The quality is great, the price was great, the second shelf holds tons of magazines and board books, and it suits our family perfectly. I only wish the wheels rolled a bit better, they seem to be more for looks than for function.
I have those stools from Overstock and I love them!

I don't know if you've been there, but there is a shop in Paris on Quai de la Mégisserie (very close de la place du Chatelet, in between the flower shops) that sells all kinds of fantastic industrial furniture. I think it is all reproduction but there is an amazing selection of lights. I also loved the tables that they do using metal frames with inserts of old parquet hongroise- expensive but so gorgeous!
