The Commission Project

We did The Commission Project last year as a way to help pay of our crazy medical bills. It was a smashing success selling out in two days and we ended up with over 200 people on our wait list. This year we are going to do two small rounds. One going on right now--in time for Mother's Day and the other in the Fall, in time for Christmas.

The paintings will be painted in France and then taken to San Francisco where they will be framed and shipped.

For those of you not familiar with the Commission Project, it works like this:

1. You purchase a painting right over here. For a flat rate of $240* you get a custom painting, framed, with shipping included.

2. Then you email the photo you want painted to commissionapainting@gmail.com no later than January 24th (you don't need the photo ready to purchase the painting.) Your photo will be approved within 48 hours.

3. Then you just wait by your mailbox for your painting to come. They will be shipped by April 22nd.

We opened it up to the waitlist first and are about 50% sold out. So if you are wanting a special gift for your mom or a painting of your wedding, dog, car, house, or baby, go here to read more. I know it seems a little early to think about Mother's Day but we need the extra lead time to get them dry and back to San Francisco.

(*There are other price points for international paintings and for paintings with more than one figure.)

  1. What a wonderful project! Hhhmmm...my mom would love to receive a painting "made in Paris" for Mother's Day. Will have to think about that photo. All the best with your move!

  4. Oh, I'm going to have to wait until the Fall I think. We're taking family pictures soon, but not in time for this go 'round. Oh well. Great idea. I hope you & Paul continue to do this!

  6. I'm so sorry you had to deal with awful medical bills but I'm glad you found a good way to generate money for them relatively quickly. And honestly, I can't wait to see what Paul paints in Paris!
