New Face

I realized this morning I hadn't ever posted pictures of Roman post-surgery. This picture is from 10 days after his operation. The surgery went well and it is kind of amazing how fast he healed. We love his new little face.

Also, in case you missed it, here are some "before pictures" and here is the post when we found out he would be born with a cleft.

one of my boys has a similar scar. he fell down and split his lip from just above the lip to his nose last summer. I'm happy to report that today you can barely see the scar. we're pretty OCD about putting sunblock on it and my MIL had us putting destin ointment on it for a while (but he rebelled and won't allow that anymore because of how it smells)
    he looks great!

    Adorable!

And Jordan, it is awesome that you posted about this--I imagine it's terrifying to find out that your child needs any kind of surgery, but you really showed that, if you're child is going to be born with a cleft palate, everything will work out just fine. So many children are born with cleft palates (especially outside of the US--check out Operation Smile, a great charity)--it's much more common than people think.

But little Roman had his surgery and looks adorable, not to mention healthy and happy. These posts are really going to help parents who go through this in the future.

    Well done, Jordan.
