Last time I posted about this it made some people uncomfortable to "ruin" an old book. These books I got from a thrift store and they smelled funny, I looked up the printing and none of them were rare or valuable. I'm an English Lit major and I love books but in my opinion people can be too precious about moldy books sometimes.

I remember seeing this somewhere. Was it here in the past? was it Design Mom? Anyway, it's fabulous.
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea!! i saw a ton of old books at my local thrift store yesterday. definitely will bookmark for future parties!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea (and your blog as I live in Australia and you give a lovely insight into a different world) as my children are always trying to find secret places to stash their treasures...
ReplyDeletethat is so cute!! i love it!!
ReplyDeleteI agree about people being too precious about books, I'm passionate about literature and preservation of history but sometimes old things are just that; old and tired and ready for the rubbish bin so repurposing them as invites is a fab idea. I thoroughly enjoy all of your creative and unique party and invitation ideas, keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a fantastic idea (totally agree with you about the moldy old books) I'm seriously tempted to hold a grown up bookworm party now - thanks for sharing your best of, it's so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI did this as a delivery mechanism for book tokens at Christmastime. They went down so well.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am not precious at all about old books (and I'm a bookseller!)
Love this idea, but I cannot find the step by step instructions on the Nesting blog anymore. Are they available anywhere else?
