Lisa Mahar and Kid O

I've been working on getting Moses' toy area better organized. I'm completely inspired by Lisa Mahar's setup. Lisa owns the fabulous kid store Kid O. Although I have limited space I am interested in making sure things have a place rather than just stuffing everything in the toy basket I also am working on curating our toy collection. Go here to read Lisa's interview and see more pictures.

  1. Oh I love their little beds! And that toy area is so clean and organized, I wonder how long it stays that way.

I don't get the appeal, it seems so sterile and institutional. I expect someone to jump out and start screaming about the evils of wire hangers.

Hmm.. and she says she knows kids?? she is a awesome designer but she doesnt see her kids. I'll play transformers any day with my kids rather than have them play with high design toys with a Nanny. this is cut from the article...

"You must spend a lot of time with your children.

I run a business, I work from nine to six, my kids go to bed at seven. I have a nanny on the weekends, I have other help …

So does your older son have playdates?

I’m being very slowly won over to playdates but my feeling is that school is very intense and it’s very group focused, so I think it’s important for him to have some time to himself to do his own things."
