Happy weekend! Did you watch the Royal Wedding? I totally cried! I LOVED it! I'm excited to be at home this weekend. It's my first weekend home in almost a month and I'm looking forward to some long walks. The photo below was taken when we were in Brugge, Belgium this week. We rented bikes and road all over the city. Brugge is one of my favorite European cities, its just so cute.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of my hometown! Glad to read you had a nice time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I totally cried too this morning...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I'm so glad to know that I wasn't the only one who cried. It was such a beautiful affair. Kate was grace personified...
ReplyDeleteKate looked gorgeous--and the fact that you know they're so much in love made it that much more touching!
ReplyDeleteI lived in Belgium and I love Bruges as well ... looks like you lucked out with the weather too!
What a stunning picture! We're celebrating my daughter's second birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture! I've never been there but now I want to go!
ReplyDeleteOne question - do you take off your bike helmets for pictures, or do you just not wear them? I reluctantly wear one every time I'm on a bike, but hate how they look in pictures!
I literally just got back from Brugges today! It was so touristy but doesn't lose it's charm at all. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteYes. I loved it, too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing good in an often ugly, sad world.
That moment when Kate is trying so hard not to cry as she walked into WA? It just felt like the most intimate moment I have ever seen on film. Beautiful and full of emotion.
Lovely, lovely wedding -- with such endearing personal touches worked into it! You are so blessed to be enjoying Europe with your family. Wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to Bruges this summer; do you have a hotel recommendation? Thanks - love your blog. Pam
ReplyDeleteI'm hosting a picnic at our house this weekend, so I'm going to draw upon as many good ideas from other people (like you!) as I can to make it slightly more charming than it otherwise would be. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally loved the wedding too!
ReplyDeleteIn a world full of hurt, and war, and terror, it's so nice to sit and soak up love, and happiness, and kind hearts. God Bless them. It was a beautiful affair.
I watched it and loved it..in all its magnificent yet understated glory! have a lovely weekend..do check out my royal-wedding themed post when you have a moment! xx meenal
ReplyDeletei don't know how you cried! i taped it and watched it this evening but it was the so unemotional! maybe it's because i just got married and was fighting tears (and not winning) the whole ceremony but i don't know...
ReplyDeleteit was beautiful for sure...but more in a stylish, aesthetic sense. not so much romantic!

I was totally obsessed with the wedding as well. I saw a terrific quote on facebook. A friend said she saw magic yesterday. She went on to say we're surrounded by disasters and heartache daily and it was nice to stop for a moment and be part of a fairytale. I just couldn't stop thinking about the pageantry and had to express my excitement in some way...so I made outfits for my kids and dressed them up! I can just hear the conversation with the therapist in years to come...."It all started with the Royal Wedding." :)Pictures at http://sandrakleist.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked my suggestion to ride bikes in Brugge! It's such a lovely city... not to mention country. I lived in Belgium for a while and just loved it. Wish I could go back. Anyways, what a great photo of the two of you! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteohhh- we are going there for our anniversary in a few weeks! any recommendations?
ReplyDeleteThe Royal Wedding was beautiful! I was officially obsessed :o) Looks like you had a lovely visit in Brugges. I used to live in Belgium when I was younger - so many good memories, I hope I can go back to visit someday.
ReplyDeletebeautiful picture!
ReplyDeletethis weekend we had beautiful weather so we spent a lot of time outside!
I love this picture! So fun. Cute dress too! I watched and it was such a wonderful historic moment!
ReplyDeleteGreat pic! I love the yellow cardigan! I haven't been to Bruges, but became very enamored of it after watching the wacky and cool film "In Bruges" with Colin Farrell. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it, for the scenery and the darkly funny dialogue.
