Anne told me about this event called Diner en Blanc that might be the coolest thing I've ever heard of. It happens every year (each year in a new location) and the attendees don't know where they are going until 15 minutes before it starts. Everyone wears white and and has a giant dinner party under the stars. Doesn't it look amazing? I'm dying here. How do I get an invitation?! I'm very tempted to throw my own. Who's in?
Anne did a post on this right here.

This looks amazing! Here's to hoping you get an invite. We need to try this in the states!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!
ReplyDeleteoh my... YES PLEASE! everyone looks so angelic! what an amazing idea...
ReplyDeleteWow. How do you 'avoid' an invitation would be better question. (I mean that in a good way). It's impressive that they have so many people ready on the spur of the moment.
ReplyDeleteIf somehow you don't find an invite (which I would not bet against) I say you do one of you own.
Hey, maybe start one in the states when you return.
That's amazing! You must go!
ReplyDeleteWow, is this a sit down event? So interesting. Thanks for sharing!

I think you have to be invited by someone who's already been invited or someone that knows someone...
ReplyDeleteWe call it " le bouche à oreille " ;)
Good luck
Completely amazing! Would love to go! xo
ReplyDeleteSo cool! If you figure out how to get an invite, let me know. ;)
ReplyDeleteWow - what an unusual event. And the seating is all assigned? That's amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is, in fact, really cool, but given everything that's going on in the world sometimes I feel that people could spend their time in a better way...
ReplyDelete[sorry about the bitter post! I've had a really bad day!!! Jordan, your blog is always lovely and inspiring!! I wish every day were a "Happy Day"]
Oh my goodness, that's incredible. It would be fun to recreate on a smaller scale with a bunch of friends!

ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! If you don't manage to get an invite (which I hope you do!) then I look forward to seeing how you recreate your own!:)
ReplyDeleteHi jordan! what amazing pictures! I emailed you and was hoping you could reply in the next week or so, no hurries, its about ideas for what to do on an upcoming paris trip!

Um. Your blog kind of ruined me (in a good way). Because of your oh-so tempting entries, my husband and I are now planning a 3 week trip for this July, despite our having been several times, including a semester study abroad.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping this event happens in July (and that we get invites!)
logistically, i think it would be relatively easy to pull off with social networking (especially twitter) nowadays. if you do get an invite, please do tell us!
ReplyDeleteI am actually swooning over this post! How amazing and memorable that would be!
ReplyDeleteI Love it!! I just Googled and found that there is one in Montreal, too! They have a Facebook page with info:

ReplyDeleteOne year when we were there this event was going on. It was so amazing to watch. The French have a wonderful way of celebrating the everyday!
ReplyDeletelooks like ecstasy and makes my heart feel warm. this is going on "the list"
ReplyDeleteIf you want to throw your own version, I'd love to get an invite (and I'll even bring some goodies along) :D
