It was a great little project to do with kids. The main thing is to paint on both sides of the paper before you cut. And I'm not sure if you can tell the scale here but I think the teeny tiny links are the cutest (even though they take a little longer.)

gorgeous! what a great idea. we made some chains, but they were too bulky and had no watercolor. I think we will definitely try again following your lead!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteI might try these tonight! Thanks!
ReplyDeletelove your paper chains!
ReplyDeleteI love this! But I am pretty sure this is a project just for me...my three year old would destroy it!
ReplyDeleteLovely project...but even more precious for being made with your son!
ReplyDeleteso, we tried it tonight. I love how the little strips made the otherwise not-so-amazing watercolors look lovely and stripey. My two boys were good through the painting phase and the older one liked the cutting phase (although his strips were not very slim), but I am the one fastening the chain together now that they are in bed. I noticed that you used glue rather than tape...is this because you do not want the tape to show? Thanks! Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! We've been making a lot of water color (and collage) stars at our house for the top of our tree. I think we now have about 50! Would you like one?
ReplyDeletehey that was a creative idea! I'll try it now with my daughter, she's gonna be like it ..
ReplyDeleteSo cool. What a neat alternative to the tacky giant rings of bright green and red construction paper.
ReplyDeletespeechless- so handsome.

I'm in love with this! This would be pretty if you incorporated it with a water color rainbow party.
