I helped my friend
Brooke plan a picnic for her husband's 30th birthday. I designed the labels to put on all the little bags and containers. Her husband loves Michael Pollan so on the ouside of the box we put one of his favorite quotes, "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." And then we put little facts about her husband all over everything. Unfortunately Paul and I were out of town when the whole thing went down this weekend--but Michelle took some pictures for me {thanks
Michelle.} We got the gable box idea from an old issue of MS Weddings and then we put our own spin on it.

I have got to be more creative!
happy birthday to christian! i'm so bummed we weren't there. it looks like it turned out great!
this is very cute! love the color..
I've got to think of some reason to throw a summer picnic party. This is insanely adorable.
This is so sweet! He's a lucky guy!
Turned out great! I like the random facts about the birthday boy.
Brilliant as usual.
So cute! Love the red. I want to do something similar for my 30th birthday party where we're showing an outdoor movie.
amazing! and I love that it's all designy and cool, but not girly. That's a hard balance, and of course you rocked it.
Darling!
Can't get enough of these cute cute pictures. Well done! (the both of you) Last Christmas I filled red gable boxes with goodies (theme: things to dip in chocolate) for neighbor gifts. It was so fun to put together. I found the boxes at our local Xpedx if you can believe it. They also carry a kraft brown too. Next time you're in Utah...
Such a fun idea! It's nice the weather cooperated.
Were the labels printed on standard Avery sizes?
Jordan, this is such a brilliant idea! I'm going to have to steal this one, I"m afraid...
You are so inspiring! You make me want to plan a party.
Do you peel the labels off all those water bottles or do you buy plain ones somewhere?
adorable, love how it all comes together.
Lovely!!
Could this have been a more fabulous picnic?! Seriously. Such talent. I now feel like my picnics are pure white-trash in comparison. ha ha ha!
while that is *super* rad, i hate to think of all unecessary paper waste created :/
So fun. Could I have you live with me and make all of my party thoughts come true?
Cute blog!!!!
You are one talented lady--thanks fro sharing your great ideas!
Sigh. It's just so pretty.
I agree with Anonymous... it is incredibly cute and lovely, but how do you justify the paper and box waste when you could have just set sandwiches out on pretty plates?
My brother and I are planning a big party for my Dad's 75th birthday - we'll roast a whole hog and serve typical BBQ/Picnic salads - but I'm trying to figure out how to get around using paper plates for all those people. It would break my heart.
Yeah, I think that is a little judgmental. What if she had made a lot of paper tissue balls for decoration? What is the difference? With parties it isn't about function it is about decoration.
TRS- for your Dad's party it would be less wasteful if you all just had a conference call to wish your dad a happy birthday. Think of all the gas you could save!
zingers, wow.
i love the earth.
i love paper.
i love jordan.
the visual stimulation created by the sea of red is fantastic and inspiting. i'm going out to chop down trees -just- to recreate this feast of paper.
um, pretty sure the boxes/packaging are recycled and have some amount of PCW content.
really, don't you think every single guest took their cute gable box home and are now re-using it?
rock on, paper diva.
seriously cool. LOVE the packaging sooo much it!!!
Where did you buy those boxes and labels ?
You are an amazing design diva - thanks for all the inspiration :)
LOVE these labels...very cute and perfect for a fun little outdoor picnic!
Such a fun idea! I love it!
Yowza. I was just asking a question.
No need to be snippy.
Sheesh.
Sorry TRS. I'm just teasing. :)
This is great! I would love to know how you did the water bottles too.
I just wish my Big 30 didn't seem like so long ago!!!
really nice!
