Last year I inherited my dad's stamp collection. It is basically two thick binders of old stamps that are barely worth more than their face value. He bought them as an investment but they never amounted to much. Lucky for me they can still be used as postage and they are very cool looking. My favorite thing to do is to match up the stamps by color a la'

They are so pretty. I love stamps. :)
Hi!
I have been reading your blog for sometime now but, I confess I have never commented before now. I just would like to say that I just love your blog, your style and your recommendations. I have found two fabulous new singers that I really love via you and your blog and assorted other excellent finds(read: your latest garland post!) so, thank you and thank you!

I love stamps!...and I love your blog.
Dad had a stamp collection?
I am so jealous of your inheritance! Your dad must be one cool dude.
I've done this for years. I buy cool stamps that appeal to me and add as needed. For instance, I love sending the quilt stamp along with the Chippendale chair $.04 supplemental stamp. I try to send a message to the recipient about their likes or habits by choosing my stamps.
I need to start buying the vintage ones, though.
After looking through that great ebay store, I'm strongly considering doing this for my save-the-dates for my upcoming wedding. Have you (or any of you commentors) had any problems mailing them?
allison,
everything ships fine. :)
oh how pretty! i can't wait for the eames stamps....
I saw that there were going to be Eames stamps this year also. Wouldn't they be great paired with the Chippendale chair or the clock (once postage goes up again)? I like the dichotemy of modern with tradish.
Thanks, Jordan! I'm going to start bidding now. :)
ooh, decoupage something with them b/c someone else might not appreciate them as much as you.
